It is 6 am in the morning, and I am sipping my second cup of water with lemon and honey. It crosses my mind that I nearly forgot to share these set of pictures that I shot in last days of September. I remember perfectly well how I planned every single detail. It was pretty fun to pick a dress, decide how I wanted to style my hair and make- up purposely for this shoot. My idea was to shoot these pictures in a wheat field before harvest time.
As a blogger, there are those days when planning goes smoothly. I get to feel proud of myself, productive and at times I even want to jump high in the sky with excitement. But then, there are those days when things don’t work. These are the moments when I get to worry about what to do. And, if you are like me, try to find other ways that could potentially help get things done.
I woke up on actual day for the shoot only to realize that the farmers had just harvested every single place I had spotted. You can imagine how frustrated I was, most probably, because I waited a little too long. “Michelle, who are you to give up really,” I asked myself? I knew I had to either be optimistic and keep looking or come up with different ideas regarding location and styling. The second option was not doable at that moment, so I chose to stick to the first one. It took me days of searching.
The perfect lighting in the field
So, one evening as Axel and I were driving to his mom who lives out in the countryside for a sleepover; I noticed a small field. I did not have anything that I had prepared, but luckily, I had this dress. We planned a shoot the next morning. It was foggy which created a kind of layer preventing the harsh light from the sun and giving me the perfect lighting I could ever ask for. For me, that was indeed a magnificent moment that almost left me in tears. The pictures turned out so good, and I am glad I could finally see the results of what started out as a small idea.
This scenario taught me that, life will not always give us want we want or wish. We make plans, but often, we meet challenges or something along the way that can hinder us from achieving our goals. So, what do we do? Give up? Start afresh? Find an alternative way to help reach that goal? I will leave this to you, but in my opinion and especially now, when I look back and remember how frustrated I was, I realize it was such a silly thing to do.
I hope you like these pictures and you enjoy reading this post
